December end of year wrap-up
We opened the December Meeting with the announcement of the People’s Choice Awards, and Justine Samson Award from the Exhibition. It was a quieter exhibition than previous years due to the fact that we usually have it at the same time as WOW, and the lower foot traffic in general due to COVID uncertainty, but still very successful. The quantity and quality of the entries was fantastic and a huge thank you goes out to all entrants, and of course the Exhibition Committee for your hard work.
We also bought our Christmas items that make the holiday for us, and we had a wide range of items bought. From tablecloths, decorations and quilts each piece had a story or two behind them and they certainly made the night!
Judi had us all singing to the 12 days of a Quilters Christmas! It was a true wish list for all of us, and a lot of laughter was had.
12 quilting vouchers
11 rolls of cotton
10 sets of templates
9 fancy rulers
8 jelly rolls
7 rolls of batting
6 layer cakes
5 very sharp blades
4 quilting patterns
3 packs of pins
2 cutting boards
And a new machine machine under the tree!!
And we finished, as always, with a fantastic show and tell!
January’s meeting will be a work day at Kaori Arts and Crafts Centre, from 2:30pm until 9pm. Pop in whenever you have time and bring whatever you would like to work on. There’s plenty of power-points and tables for laying out and working on.
