Honeycomb Spin

With Anna Hicks

After being postponed last year, this popular class is back!

The ever popular hexagon has had a contemporary spin. Instead of hand piecing, learn an easy method to applique the hexagons which will be held in place with a spiral of machine quilting. This class includes preparing the hexagons (some prep work is required), laying out with a focus on colour, value and movement, spiral quilting and finishing a wall hanging with a hidden facing and hanging sleeve.

Students can choose to start a large wall hanging size (70 x 100cm), a single small hanging (30 x 40cm) or a series of 3 small panels.

1-day class: 6 - 8 hours teaching time. Detailed info sheet will be sent out for the preparation of hexagons before class.

Class kit: Colour printed notes $6 each

Members $65, Non-members $79

UFO at Home (Clayton’s UFO)

UnFinished Object alert!

Do you have some unfinished quilts or projects that have been trying to catch your eye?

We are putting on an at home UFO weekend where you can come, work on those troublesome projects with friends (and use their expertise to help you solve complex issues), and go home to your own bed at night.

Costs are still being determined. Expressions of interest are open either at February’s meeting, or by contacting Larrie or Charlotte (details in our newsletter). Express interest for both days, or one day.

This event will open for wider interest soon.
