Symposium wrap-up
Our October meeting was a fun de-brief night where all who attended Symposium classes bought in samples that they had worked on, and spoke about the techniques and tips they learnt. Some classes were attended by more than one person from our Guild and it was fascinating to see the differences between their work. Some people did classes for all five days and had a lot to show!
Everyone had a lot of fun and the stories to share were awesome!
Wellington Quilters was a proud sponsor for the Symposium, sponsoring several of the Quilting awards in the exhibition.
We also had members enter the Symposiums Exhibition, and some of us won! A huge congratulations to all those who won ribbons!
The quilts in this years exhibition were of such an impressive quality and showing. Well done to everyone who entered.

We did have some bad news in our general meeting. Shut in Stitchers is needing to wind up. We haven’t been able to access Arohata more than a handful of times since 2020 due to the pandemic, and unfortunately no longer have the space available to us. We may be able to continue supplying one unit for a small period of time but we will have more information about this to come. Very sad news especially in light that 2023 would have been our 30th year of the program.
We had a small show and tell of Quilts this week, mostly due to everyone having recently shown their work at Symposium but it was heavy on quilts for the refuge which is always fantastic to see.
